Information about our accommodation

Check-in

Check-in is possible between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Could you please let us know what time you expect to arrive at Hoeve De Vredenhof? We are not always on-site and do not have a reception desk.

Check-out

On the day of departure, you can check out between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Alternative check-out times can be arranged upon request.

Parking

Parking is free throughout Zuidlaren.

If you have a reservation with us, please use the Google Maps pin you’ll receive by email before arrival to easily find our location.

You’ll enter our garden through the gate. At the outside door of the breakfast room, you’ll find a bell – just ring it, and we’ll come to check you in.

Breakfast Times

Breakfast is served between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
Earlier or later times can be arranged upon request.

Peace & Relaxation

Our farmhouse is authentic and full of character, which means that some sounds from other rooms or the hallway may be audible.
We do our best to ensure a peaceful stay and kindly ask guests to be considerate of each other, especially in the evenings and mornings.

Non-smoking

All indoor areas of our accommodation are non-smoking.
If smoking occurs inside, we charge a €250 cleaning fee.

Pets

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in our accommodation.

Bike Rental

We have 4 bicycles with gears available for rent.
The cost is €8.50 per bike per day.
If you’d like to rent a bike, please contact us in advance so we can check availability and reserve one for you.

Cancellations

The following cancellation policy applies:

  • Up to 7 days before arrival: free cancellation

  • Within 7 days before arrival: 50% of the total amount will be charged

  • Within 48 hours before arrival or in case of no-show: 100% of the total amount will be charged

Cancellations must be made in writing or by email and are only valid after we have confirmed them.


Walking the Pieterpad

The Pieterpad is the most well-known long-distance hiking trail in the Netherlands.
It runs from Pieterburen on the Wadden Sea coast in Groningen to the Sint-Pietersberg near Maastricht, covering a total of 492 kilometers, divided into 26 stages.

The trail passes through a wide variety of landscapes and is maintained by the Nivon. It is marked in the field with the internationally recognized white-red stripes of long-distance hiking trails (LAW).

Pieterpad stages from our accommodation

From Bed & Breakfast Hoeve de Vredenhof, you can walk the following five stages of the Pieterpad:

  • Stage 1: Pieterburen – Winsum
    Good public transport. Drive to Pieterburen, hike to Winsum, then return to your car in Pieterburen by bus.

  • Stage 2: Winsum – Groningen
    Good public transport. Drive to Winsum, hike to Groningen, then take the train back to your car in Winsum.

  • Stage 3: Groningen – Zuidlaren
    Good public transport. Take the bus from Zuidlaren (bus stop 150 meters from us) to Groningen, then walk back to Zuidlaren.

  • Stage 4: Zuidlaren – Rolde
    From Monday to Saturday there are good public transport connections between Zuidlaren and Rolde. Visit www.9292.nl for details.
    Use bus stop Brink Zuidlaren and Grote Brink Rolde as your departure and arrival points.

  • Stage 5: Rolde – Schoonloo
    Good public transport. Drive to Rolde, hike to Schoonloo, and then return by bus to your car in Rolde.
